After two months of adapting and rehearsing for our production of Hansel & Gretel while following safety protocols, my 5-person Masters ensemble at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre is having a blast broadcasting this piece LIVE on the Dell’Arte Facebook page. We still have a few shows left that you can tune into this weekend, with performances starting at 7:30pm PST Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5) and closing at 2pm PST on Sunday Dec. 6! Our cast features Laura Hart (she/her) as Gretel Julieta Garza (she/her) as our Mother, Nate FitzSimons (they/them) as our Father, Dustin Curry (he/him) as the Witch, and me, Oscar Nava (he/him), as Hansel!

I’m also excited to announce that my ensemble at Dell’Arte has partnered with KEETtv, Humboldt’s local PBS station, to film and broadcast our show! Our first weekend of shows was a success! Only one flat came crashing down, and so many twinkies were consumed! The real challenge with this show has been adapting my physical play to a virtual audience, and trusting that my ensemble’s work is strong enough to hit home this holiday season. This show is a joy to experience, and I’m grateful for the chance to perform!
